Pros

Minimal supervision. Free rental and prom “bonuses”

Cons

Low pay for what corporate expects from you. A company is suppose to set you up for success. Friar Tux does no such thing. No training at all. You are pretty much thrown in with the sharks. Policy and pricing always changes and they expect us to know it all right away.

Pros

Help with special occasions, sane hours of business.

Cons

Low pay. Team members who are either unmotivated (lazy), or overly ambitious (steal sales commissions) are not properly managed as long as the store makes good numbers as a whole. Doing retail on the floor is a joke with the company's prehistoric system of ordering. It's like buying from the Sears catalog except the customer had to drive to see it and you order for them based on scant description and no pictures. the department's tendency to send your store tons of inventory that will never sell, while high demand items are at a location so far away they don't make it to yours before the customer finds something elsewhere. They finally got a website, but there's no mention of it on the store site. It's so separate, customers have no idea it's the same company. Prom is a clusterflank with no way of keeping pickups in order unless you are extremely blessed with highly effective co-workers and managers (slim chance).

No Opportunity for Growth

Pros

Work in the wedding industry. Have a more better understanding in (Men's) fashion.

Cons

Family business. No room for growth unless you are part of the family. Only benefits the family, but not the employees. Utilized warehouse employees for personal use by management. Your voice is not heard, but goes in one ear and out the other. If you're not part of the family, there is no benefit for you. Management will protect their name and reputation rather their employees.
