Pros
Friendswood ISD really wants to be that charming small town where everything revolves around the high school athletic teams, everybody knows everyone else, and nobody ever wants to leave. The administration team provides a lot of autonomy for teachers, student behavior expectations are higher than many places, and the community really does love the school.
Cons
There is a tendency for "good old boy" culture and in-group perspectives. The athletics are key, at the expense of academic rigor at times. Some students may find it hard to fit in if they don't fit the mold and there are not a lot of supports and outlets for them if that is the case.
