Pros

Good pay. Ostensibly nice working conditions.

Cons

At first the company seems to be a great relaxed place to work. However this impression dissolves after the double standard becomes apparent. When bright and beautiful millennials and high ranking members of the FP hierarchy leave they are fawned over and celebrated even if they have only been there for a year or less. Those who don't fit the mold are dumped out like trash with only an email as acknowledgement that they were ever there. Management pretends to be open and transparent in the aftermath of such events but employees are afraid of asking questions for fear of having a target put on their back and breaking the illusion that manic pixie dream company is full of excitement, fun, and positivity. Furthermore expatiations of employees are unrealistic. They are expected to become masters of the company's product in a very short time. However the product is massively overcomplicated and structured in a very arbitrary way with controls for similar functions buried in a vast array of admin control panels. If you cant keep up you are dumped not supported.

Pros

- Decent Pay - Nice office in a good location - Free coffee and Granola Bars - Work life balance, not a lot of OT

Cons

Function point... where careers go to die. When I started out at this company I thought I had hit the jackpot! Chris the owner was very kind, the employees were warm and inviting, I couldn't believe my luck and thought this would be a real game changer. BUT let me tell you, the facade dropped too quickly here and all the underlying poison and bullsh*t comes out to play. I quickly quit without ever looking back, and I am glad that I did because according to my sources on the inside it's only gotten worse. The dynamics in the office are uncomfortable and unprofessional. The company dangles the carrot in front of you promising many perks BUT it's a load of crock... it doesn't happen. Oh sorry, my mistake, it will happen to you if you are BFF with the owner or his family member. The social dynamics in the office are full of cliques, drama, and gossip. The company has seen over 15 -20 employees quit from late 2016 to now, including members who have worked there since the beginning (over 10 to 20 years). Hello, red flag! Almost all of the departments are completely different employees in less that one year. If you provide any feedback on the company or product prepared to be shunned or fired. If you want to kill your career, I recommend you taking a position at FP. If you would like to advance your career and not blow your brains out... avoid this company like the plague. You've been warned.

I am so sorry that your experience at Function Point was not aligned with our goal to create a great place, where people feel respected and supported. We have had our share of change over the last year, it is true, and it has not always been easy. Our goal is to foster a highly productive team, willing to tackle challenges and win in the marketplace. I believe we are suited for this. Thank you for your feedback. It helps us make FP a better place, and best of luck in your future endeavours. With Gratitude, Chris Wilson

Pros

They take the money to buy good reviews here.

Cons

Has the worst culture I experienced in more than 25 years of my career. They promise nice sounding things to lure you into their hell and on day one you find out that something is completely off. Leadership has a reality disorder and want a happy environment because they don't have it. They have got their family members sitting in each team watching of who is doing something wrong. Once you open your mouth to suggest something or remind them what they said before they kick you out regardless of how many years you served them and what your current situation is. If you want to talk and resolve an issue they blame it on you, call their lawyer and tell you that you are fired having the biggest smile in their face. Pay is mediocre although inside people really believe its good. And if you still read this, I bet the CEO will copy paste his 'sorry for the bad expierience' message and not bother to admit any mistake. Don't make the same mistake as I did and buy into their nice looking image and talk.

I am not sure how to respond to every glassdoor review and this is certainly one. I will say I take the reviews very personally, it's part of who I am and my wishes for all our team. It is also because these reviews affect everyone in the firm. Is this review completely truthful? I don't believe so, but I do believe there is something to learn from everyone's opinion and for that, I thank you for taking the time to write this.
