Pros

Very nice people. Everyone is extremely pleasant. I've never worked in a friendlier workplace. It's not fake either. Management is nice too. Feedback is extremely tactful. Never worked more than 40 hours Paid well I learned more in 4 months than I'v ever learned at any other place of employment.

Cons

There were red flags from the beginning. When I inquired about benefits offered to employees, I was bluntly told "there's standard benefits." I wanted to make a careful decision before accepting an offer, but I felt rushed and was told I couldn't see the benefits prior to accepting the offer. This was odd. There wasn't an exit interview either. It seems like Fundamental is just worried about getting the job done. This isn't a place for a new graduate who wants to learn and grow. I think the ideal employee is someone who has some experience and wants to come to work and get the job done and go home. There are no bells and whistles or perks to attract new talent. You do your work and go home. Ideal for some, not for me. There's no work from home opportunities. After I accepted the offer, I noticed how dated the office looked. I don't need state of the art technology, but the company has huge file cabinets and 90% of employees have one computer monitor. This isn't efficient in 2019, especially for newer tech savvy employees. It was like working in the year 1995. Next, the training process is okay. I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10, as management is extremely patient. However, the company lacks training materials. Most of the reference materials were last updated in 2005. That's unacceptable and new processes should be documented. However, I don't think there are new processes. This is bad. Where's the innovation? Where is the company headed? How will they compete in a changing world? I'm honestly not sure and I knew this would just be a "job" for me. Also, I've never seen so much paper printed in my life. I think Fundamental has destroyed at least a dozen forests to date. Staff must print out reports because you cannot work with one monitor when comparing reports, inputting data, etc. There's a lack of controls. As an accountant, this stood out to me. Computers and file cabinets are not locked. This isn't good at all. One final thing and this is my biggest concern and disappointment with this place. The job description stated Fundamental wanted someone with 3-5 years of accounting dealing with Medicare and Medicaid and nursing homes and hospitals. I did not match the hiring description at all. I understand companies often take risks, but this doesn't seem like a well thought out plan. I had about 1 year of experience in an entire different field of accounting. I was always a little confused as to why I was hired, but I went along with it because I needed a job.

Pros

Activities, flexible, a variety of work, encouraged to explore interests, and innovation is rewarded.

Cons

Some long-time employees have a sense of entitlement paired with poor work ethic and a disregard for other employees. It brings the place down with negativity and can be distracting to work.
