Pros

Staff are really fun and sociable always doing things together. Real fun bunch

Cons

Awful pay, no public holiday rates. Managers a cut shifts without telling you They rely on you being dumb, you get no paper work outlining your payment award, your contract is hidden as online training and full of jokes. Misleading the staff all the time They overhire

Pros

Absolutely lovely venue staff who look out for one another. Culture of inclusively is amazing Fun place to work Reasonable compensation Great advancement - if you speak with the company it's easy to climb

Cons

Office management and some members of the upper management staff seem to not respect venue staff - on one occasion a staff member left an email open on their computer that called day to day staff entitled. Company seemed resistant to pay raises and penalty rates when federal laws removing zombie awards came through, although mileage may vary. Since penalty rates came through there have been far more shift cuts resulting in skeleton crews running shifts. Can be a bit too intense culture wise in terms of "we're a fun enviroment"

Took me a while to finally write this

Pros

I had fun (at times), great physical environment. Young and energetic workplace. Very fast paced and exciting projects.

Cons

It does feel like a bit of a facade at times. My experience was quite negative and involved being 'sexualised' by a colleague in Head Office that made me feel uncomfortable. This person was a male and funnily enough responsible for people & culture, he would often make remarks (to myself) and other male members of staff that were audible to most of the office and laughed at by many, at times he would physically touch too ("joking around" of course). Remarks that had I been female would've resulted in instant dismissal for him. At times it made me feel uncomfortable. It would often impact my work as he'd literally be staring me down. Senior Management were in earshot of these comments and didn't question them. I felt C-Suite & Management at times treated me poorly, they destroyed my confidence and gaslit at times. I still wish the friends I made there all the success, including the CEO (he was great). However my time at Funlab did a number on my mental wellbeing and confidence.
