Very high caseloads even for legal services, which becomes even more unmanageable by the lack of organization and structure to oversee said caseloads. Idealism overrides pragmatism in what the org can accomplish, thus stretching everyone thin. It is common to cancel vacation time and work late on weekdays, as well as during holidays and weekends. This org is also very hard on young attorneys of color, especially young women of color; like most other law offices, you are prone to facing microaggressions and are systematically overlooked. You would hope for better at an organization working to serve vulnerable populations, but such is the nonprofit world.
