GJ gets their foot in the door with audits, but their ultimate goal is to have their clients rebuild their existing eDiscovery environment from ground up. Why? Because GJ will make a lot of money off the hardware purchased as they are a Dell re-seller. GJ has even went as far as to tell clients "we can't help you unless you let us rebuild the environment from the ground up". Most people would consider this recommendation a conflict of interest. Some would even say it sounds like something a con-artist would push. Real consultants improve existing infrastructure, people, and technologies. GJ easily cons non-technical people into thinking GJ's way hardware solution is the way and the only way. GJ has threatened to "walk" when clients wouldn't take their recommendations. If you enjoy feeling unethical, you'll enjoy working for GJ.
If you sign the non-compete, it will be extremely hard for you to work anywhere else in the eDiscovery industry.
GJ will not take on a new client until they sign a contract stating promising they CANNOT and will NOT hire former or current GJ employees. This isn't something most companies require to be signed. It is a red flag. In other words GJ will most likely be your last stop in the eDiscovery industry. You will most likely have to take a pay cut when you change industries as most of your eDiscovery related skills are going to be worthless to most employers.
