Pros

GG&A works with top-tier clients, and is at the leading edge of current thinking in philanthropy. The projects are interesting and intellectually challenging.

Cons

It is impossible to succeed. The CEO himself cannot control his temper, and his attitude is, "I pay you so I own you.". This attitude trickles down from the top to all the consultants. Deadlines are tough, but the thing that makes it impossible to succeed is that you cannot move forward with a project until the CEO or consultant gives their approval/changes. This happens at the last minute, so final work always goes out with mistakes. It is impossible to have good quality control when you are sprinting for the last FedEx drop-off. Pay is not competitive and benefits are stingy as well. Despite the amazing projects and clients, it is not worth the truly miserable experience of working at GG&A.

Pros

Great clients and amazing mission.

Cons

Toxic work environment, long hours, horrible management. The CEO can not control his temper. He leads by yelling and demeaning his employees.

Pros

Unlike many companies, you won't really find employees here who do much less than everyone else and always "slide by". Everyone who works there works incredibly hard and is held to a high standard. If you're interested in a career in the non-profit industry, being able to list GG+A on your resume will help you land jobs at non-profit institutions. The time off allowed is pretty standard, and they don't usually give you a hard time about when you can schedule your vacation. They also keep the office stocked with free soda to keep everyone caffeinated.

Cons

Everyone seems to be dissatisfied. The owner's dissatisfied that he's losing money; the consultants lead hectic lives and are dissatisfied with the way Management handles things; the small office staff is dissatisfied with the growing demands placed on them and the stifling atmosphere; and the clients are dissatisfied with the deliverables they receive. The firm demands all of its employees' time, and most employees are not able to have a family life. Even worse, the company had recent layoffs that eliminated several positions that were responsible for large amounts of work, which of course increased everyone else's workload, while simultaneously cutting the salaries of the employees that remained. People routinely walk out after short periods of employment purely because they are fed up. I knew within the first week of working there that I had made a bad choice, and I should have listened to my gut.
