Pros
GG Homes is a fantastic place to work. I've been here over 10 years and I've seen the business grow from an ambitious start up to an established player in the real estate space in Southern California.
GG Homes provides an environment where people can accomplish a lot professionally if they're willing to put in the effort. Real estate is a very challenging (but rewarding) industry if you are in the right environments. Unlike traditional brokerages, corporate real estate providers, or small scale homebuyers, GG Homes has a lot of strategic advantages that puts team members in a position to do exceptionally well. I've been able to completely change the trajectory of my life working here. One highlight includes tapping into their homebuyer program multiple times to start acquiring assets along the way. (Huge perk)
On the culture side, I personally feel like I get to work with some of my best friends each and every day. These are ambitious, talented individuals who all share a passion for real estate and winning. For me, it never feels like work, just an extension of how I would choose to live my life. I do think its important to point out that the culture is really best suited for people who want to work hard, experience a lot of growth and have good accountability toward their goals. It isn't a good place to work if you simply want to collect a check and hang out. There's other companies that would be better suited.
The company does a lot of team events which are super fun. These are great resets to bring everyone together and enjoy life outside of work.
The leadership team is very knowledgeable in real estate, and investing. They truly do care about their team members and want to see everyone win. I have a lot of respect for everyone on the leadership as they have all sacrificed a lot to get the business where it is today.
The outlook for the company looks very positive. Like all real estate companies navigating the high interest rate environment, there were some bumps along the way, however GG Homes has grown continuously, picking up more market share. At the same time, many other competitors have gone out of business and left the industry. The company has plans for continued expansion, and very likely will become the largest homebuyer in California in the coming years. For me, that's exciting. It will also mean a lot of growth opportunities for it's team members.
I've grown as a human, a teammate, a leader and a real estate professional. I also built skills in nearly every single department, all because of this opportunity to work here. The crazy part is, I started off as a part time sales guy right out of school... It's a big opportunity and I'm so glad I went for it.
Cons
The company isn't a fit for everyone. For those that want to coast along, or aren't very adaptable, this could be a difficult place to work.
