      The news ain't what it used to be

      Pros

      Great people, professional environment and a sincere desire to report quality news. The benefits are pretty good, too, if you can get them.

      Cons

      Constant fear of being replaced. The newspaper business is not great for job security, but the past five years were pretty rough. A ton t of the great people there are gone now.

      Need new management in sales

      Pros

      The sales staff is like a family. Very supportive if one another. Can always count on each other to brainstorm ideas to help clients.

      Cons

      Upper management has no clue what they are doing. The Director over this paper and Ocala treats the staff as if they are trash. If she doesn't like you no matter how well you are performing you can count on being fired. They keep raising the rates to make up revenue then more people cancel because they can't afford it anymore. New owners don't care either. Cut commissions and no raises for anyone. A lot of staff has left for greener pastures. Soon they will be left with new people with no experience.
