Pros

Trainer in Bettendorf is really good

Cons

Customers breaking the equipment with in a certain amount of days hurts your pay. Have to sell a certain amount worth of items to help your pay (some techs get favored and sent to the rich areas while new techs get sent to the poor.) The manager where I was didn't care about how far away from home you were or how late you were out. The other manager that quit while I was there told me on his first day that he drinks a fifth of vodka a night to because of his job. Vehicles also aren't in the best of shape...mine for example had a bent frame and the back topper windows didn't lock (thankfully none of the items I had to sell were ever stolen.)

Pros

Travel; working outside Don't pay for small parts (zip ties, ground blocks, cable, certain small tools) Entry level; they will train you Increase pay from commission sales

Cons

Travel; not paid for time spent in between jobs (in fact, this alone my end up screwing you in the metrics and you have no control over where your jobs are) Working outside (this may be a con for some who don't like working in all weather conditions) Must provide all tools not directly related to terminating cable (drills, drill bits, hammers, shovels, pick-axe/rock bar, cable fishing tools) Restructuring pay; your pay is based on your metrics so the better you perform, the more you can potentially make, however there are some cases where the pay restructuring occurs outside of your control

Technician

Pros

Most of the technicians are good people.

Cons

Ever-changing pay. Very poor equipment managment. Working 1.5+ hours away from home almost daily. Long drives with essentially no compensation. (Driving an hour between jobs and not being paid to do so) Using personal phone for work. VERY expensive insurance with poor coverages. Varying work load, creating varying pay. "Performing" technicians getting routes first. Maintaining unrealistic metrics that get higher with every quarter.
