Easy entry to becoming a new police officer, lots of open positions, great to receive specialized training.
Cons
Anyone good is ran out, code of silence, micromanaging is unreal, Good ole boy system>time on the job>time with the employer>skill and knowledge>proven work. The department is run by people who have no idea what being a police officer is or what police do. Do not listen to or care about employees. Bad pay, bad benefits, bad culture. Lots of unnecessary stress and backstabbing in a job that is already dangerous and stressful enough.
