Review: My Experience Working at Galgotias University
I would strongly advise against working at Galgotias University based on my experience. Here are just a few of the many issues I faced:
1. Unreliable and Delayed Salary Payments: Although the salary is comparatively decent, it is often delayed. Moreover, they impose unjust salary deductions for not complying with their last-minute changes, such as canceling your week off with just a day’s notice. If you fail to come to campus on such short notice, they deduct your pay. Week offs are frequently canceled randomly for various reasons, making work-life balance impossible.
2. Lack of Respect and Value for Faculty: Faculty members are not valued at all. The administration treats staff disrespectfully, often making you wait unnecessarily or send you around multiple offices just for minor tasks. This behavior is extremely frustrating and demoralizing.
3. Distorted Hierarchy and Favoritism: The personal assistants to the Registrar and Vice Chancellor are treated with more respect and authority than the professors themselves. Faculty members receive very little recognition or respect within the institution.
4. Poor Infrastructure: There is no designated parking space for staff or students, and not even a single canteen or cafeteria on campus, which adds to the daily inconvenience.
These points are just a few examples — the list of problems is endless.
Overall, working at Galgotias University severely impacts your mental peace and job satisfaction. If you value your well-being and professional respect, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
