Pros

You can pretend your employed

Cons

This is probably the worst company I have ever worked for. They provide little in the form of support, no software, expect you to waste entire days driving with little reimbursement. The whole company is based on trying to not pay you.

Pros

The remote technicians are top-notch and they will fix your computer. The people on the ground floor are typically very effecient and customer friendly.

Cons

Though they contract on-site technicians in the US, the business is ran out of an office in Lima, Peru where they pay around $400 a month to their support staff and technicians, most of whom are Americans living abroad. Hours are incredibly long, six days a week and t´s a very poor wage, even for the geographical location. Meanwhile, the owner flaunts his wealth and rakes in well over half a million dollars a year in profits off the back of his workforce. The Billing Department is trained to never give refunds and they do this by using force and scare tactics over the phone. Very rude and unprofessional, once you give them your money you will never see it again. Greed is at the heart of this business.

Pros

you can set your own hours

Cons

when I started for geeks, the technician could make the call in terms of how much time it took to fix the problems and bill accordingly. when they went to a $300.00 flat charge for any problem, I felt they were ripping customers off. I would literally have go to 80 year old pensioners homes and tell them they had a 10 year old computer and needed to replace it. Or that their internet was down because of the trucks outside working. $300.00 please! They justify it by saying they can cache the hours, still a rip off though. They fired me for questioning some of their unethical practices by having an underlining call me back and saying the customers where unhappy with my work. I've been in the business for 20 years and have like a 97% customer satisfaction rating and have fixed 12,000 computers. Complete crap!
