Great place to work

Pros

Full autonomy to run your own show without someone breathing down your neck Fair compensation These guys are technically sound and leaders in their space Good team dynamic with high calibre people on the team

Cons

Nowhere is perferct I currently work at a global software vendor that people are queueing up at the door to get into, but it is by no means without problems despite being one of the most desirable places to work on the planet. I look back at my time at Gen-e with fondness, really a great place to work if you can get one with people and are willing to work hard. Clearly some disgruntled ex employees on this review platform intent on doing harm with nothing better to do. Disapointing...even when I depart somewhere not on the best terms I look forward, not back little to be gained by being stuck in the past

Pros

Can attract smart, technical people, pay is above average (hint: there's a catch)

Cons

Cutting corners is the name of the game; if you like to work on interesting projects and then be asked to do them in half the time allocated and without delivering a working solution, this is the place for you. Profit first and customer service last. There seems to be a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome permeating the organisation and the only time you collaborate with peers is to commiserate about the situation you've found yourself in.

Pros

Generation-e pays above average salary, has respect for family and personal commitments and has a focus on your personal and professional development.

Cons

Generation-e has a culture of seek forgiveness not permission. As a highly distributed company that is growing fast , Generation-e people are encouraged to work independently and there is really only measurement of output not activity. This does not work for all employees - particularly those that cannot stay focussed on the task at hand and need micro management. If you are confident, self motivated and mature in your approach or someone younger looking to accelerate their career, Generation-e is an ideal fit but don't expect to come and put your feet up and be told exactly what to do at each step.
