Pros

- Decent pay / paid on time. - Good website platform to work on. - Constant availability of jobs for freelance translators.

Cons

- No check and balance in power, leads to abuse of power. - Only paid twice a month, with no warnings regarding deadlines. (wish there was an email reminder about the last day to request a payout , etc.)

Worst place I've ever worked for

Pros

Provides strong and innovative service. Diverse / international culture within the team

Cons

Even though the team is rather small, communication can be extremely political. Not only are your opinions not heard, but they often get twisted in a very spiteful way, with no room left for explanation. Truly THE worst and the least fair management I've ever seen. There was even a time when most of the team left the company all at once. If you're one of the translators on the site that's another story, but don't work here.

A poorly managed company

Pros

- Motivated, smart co-workers who are passionate about what they do - Nice location in Tokyo - Good concept, easy to get behind

Cons

- Unfortunate management - mostly nice people, but inexperienced and not uniformly skilled to manage - COO is the single most terrible person I've ever worked with in my professional career before or since - Often there's a mismatch between the strengths of the service and customers sold, leading to operational headaches - Dev resources go to increasing sales, usually not improving core platform, leaving Operations teams with not enough tools to do their jobs well - Lack of diversity in leadership, especially gender
