Pros

The starting salary was competitive.

Cons

It is a very small company, with little to no direction. The owner is very hard to deal with (understatement) and treats employees with 0 respect. Very unprofessional, I would not recommend working for this company in any capacity.

Awful Owner, Zero Growth

Pros

PTO and health are good

Cons

Owner is miserable to work with. Zero growth because company is less than 5 people. No teams/departments-you are the department. You work here if you want a job or money-not because you want to learn or grow

Cultural Review

Pros

There are no pros working at this company.

Cons

Terrible company overall. Business practices are questionable at best, and it's difficult to see where the actual value is. The workplace culture is one of the worst. HR issues are commonplace, and because the organization is small, employees have little meaningful recourse when problems arise. Raising concerns or challenging decisions can quickly put a target on your back. Compensation is well below what is expected for the assigned workload and responsibilities. Employees are routinely expected to perform at management-level capacity while being paid far less than comparable positions elsewhere. Decision-making is painfully centralized. Routine improvements, projects, or ideas get trapped in layers of approval, creating endless cycles of work followed by weeks or months of waiting. Progress moves at a glacial pace. Innovation is not rewarded. New ideas are often dismissed outright, only to resurface later under different circumstances. Employees are expected to contribute heavily while receiving little recognition, autonomy, or trust in return. Overall, this is a company I would strongly recommend avoiding, whether you're considering employment or doing business with them. There are far better organizations that will value your time, expertise, and professional contributions.

We respectfully disagree with many of the characterizations in your review. GeoTel is committed to maintaining a professional, collaborative, and ethical workplace where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas, grow professionally, and support one another. As a specialized company serving a rapidly evolving telecommunications industry, we operate with high standards, clear business objectives, and a strong commitment to delivering value to our clients. Like many small and growing organizations, our employees often have opportunities to take on responsibilities beyond their job descriptions. Many of our team members view this as an opportunity to develop new skills, broaden their experience, and advance their careers. We continually evaluate our compensation, benefits, and workplace practices to remain competitive and fair within our industry. We take employee concerns seriously and provide multiple avenues for raising workplace issues. While not every suggestion or initiative can be implemented immediately, thoughtful consideration and responsible decision-making are necessary to ensure the long-term success of both our employees and our customers. We recognize this post as that of a previous and disgruntled employee; however, we wish them success in future endeavors.
