Pros

They employ great people with passion. As a company they are truly trying to lead the way in the sector.

Cons

Appalling leadership, teams working against each other and people continually being sacked for no reason. Have never worked in such an unhappy environment. The flats themselves are overpriced and East Village is no more than an exotic council estate. It's lost all its Athlete's Village heritage.

Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. Get Living introduced my role, Talent Lead, in 2020 which is the 3rd member of a new People Team (also introduced in 2020). I know it’s been a while since you wrote this; I feel it’s important for every review to have a response. Since Rick took over as CEO in Sept 2019, there have been a lot of positive changes to the company. I really think you’d see a real difference from June 2017, to now. I’m pleased to say the passion of our employees still shines through – our recent employee survey shows a real improvement in cross-team communication and collaboration. Thanks again for taking the time to write a review. All the best, Shona

Pros

Some really nice staff in the main head office. Some free lunches from time etc time. Roles are hybrid if not working at a specific site and you are working from head office.

Cons

Toxic work environment, especially from the managers; they constantly gossip about what's happening in the company and about individuals also. They push a team narrative/social events, however fail to deliver on the promised 2 monthly events. If you are upset with something being said about you in the office none of the managers are particularly helpful, not to mention several members of staff in the same team are related, either by marriage or blood; but it is not publicly spoken about. Although my manager decided to tell my team randomly one day (emphasis on the previous gossiping I mentioned) Progression is most likely if you are a relative to a manager or friends from previous with a manager, I noticed this, plus others have informed of the same whether working on a site or head office. The company has suffered an internal issue so now all new positions are full time contracts fro 6 months, previously they were permanent with a 6 month probation period.

Pros

People are lovely to work with

Cons

Lack of support and guidance from senior management. You are treated like a number and not given opportunities to progress. Mass sackings take place as a 'restructuring' guise and people are left to fend for themselves. There is no job security regardless of how long you have been there or how hard you have worked for the company. The whole development is a con, overpriced, flats are tiny and full of snagging - not sure how it passed inspections and allowed to operate!
