Nice office and View. They do give you your own space

Cons

Revolving door and everyone is looking for a scapegoat

As the Managing Partner of Gilmore Partners I take a review like this seriously. I do find this an odd forum to leave feedback, positive or negative with it being anonymous. From what I can tell anyone can sign up and post about anything without repercussions (you can tell your story, but the company can’t tell theirs because they don’t know who you are?). Doesn’t really sound like a proper two-way street. In terms of your review and looking for a scapegoat that would not make any sense in our industry. Assuming this is even a real review (we have never had the job title of Talent Acquisition Specialist in our company) I would challenge you that our Management team is second to none in the industry. Perhaps your tenure at the company was short lived due to performance issues? Again it is hard to comment with this being an anonymous posting, all the same my contact details are there if you want to have a further discussion. - Andrew Stockton

Pros

Close to the subway and has a Tim Horton's in the building. That really is it.

Cons

It's taken me quite some to get around to writing this review. I was so disappointed during my time at this company that I wanted the air to clear before I put my review online. Now, with a clear mind, I can give a truthful review about my experience at GP. This company doesn't hire women on a FT basis...unless they want to be receptionists. Even the female interns end up doing reception work. I would suggest actively hiring more women (as we know that you haven't been interviewing them, which we can see as we had access to each other's calendars and can see who's coming in to interview) but I honestly wouldn't want any woman to work at GP with the current employees. They're misogynistic, backwards and make women that are around them uncomfortable. Both of the partners (Andrew and Karim) are nice to the women who've been here, but it's the recruiters on the floor that are the issue. I've overheard one of the guys telling a woman that she should wear heels and makeup to work. When this was bought up to a senior coworker, they didn't seem to find fault in it. If they interview a woman, they'll make comments about her appearance. Mansplaining happens. I think you have to really sort out your existing staff before you bring any woman into this office. If you're a white man, you're middle-aged, and you only want to hang out with similar people, then come to Gilmore Partners! As this is the only demographic that this company hires for. Apart from Karim and one other guy, the entirety of this company fit the above description. This doesn't seem to ever change. As the minorities (both ethnic and women) leave, they're replaced by another white man. Your company should reflect the city around you, and Toronto doesn't look like that anymore. Andrew is friendly and seems to be genuinely nice. Karim is also nice enough (although I've heard him snap at many people) and comes to the office in sweats and other very casual clothes. Didn't realise he was a partner when I first met him. However, there is something sorely lacking in the culture and the respect that employees have for each other and they need to buckle down to salvage this place. Be nice and firm but please get things together.

Pros

Great view and location. Short commute if you live downtown. Unfortunately you need a 20 word minimum to write the pro's here, however I do not even have 20 words to give a positive message. I wish this wasn't the case as I always look for the positive.

Cons

I was only here a short time, but I did not need to be here long to know this was not an environment I wanted to be a part of. One Partner in-particular is very unprofessional and little to no respect for others. he does not care what the team thinks, openly admits "he is not there to make friends or fans" He is verbally abusive and has quite the temper on him. He will tell you everything your doing is wrong and will find any reason to yell at you and will have no hesitation to yell at you in front of others. He is a bully in every sense of the word. If you work under this partner, do not think for one minute that you have a voice, or can add any input. It will be his way or the highway and be prepared for the "do as I say and not as I do" attitude. Everyone in the work place dresses professionally, however this Partner will show up in ripped jeans and a hoodie and will meet your candidates looking like that. (Very unprofessional) He will make you feel that anything you do is not good enough. Overall, working under this Partner, will make it hard to get out of bed in the morning motivated to go to work as you will need prepare for what you are going to be yelled at for. Wether you are an experienced recruiter or new to the industry, it will not matter. I woke up every morning for the time I was there with anxiety due to this one individual and I have a pretty thick skin. I never talk ill about a company, but this is the first time I have seen such poor management and was quite shocked when I saw this in a professional environment.
