Great mission, poor leadership

Pros

Great mission, largest health movement in the country for black women. Remote work.

Cons

Not the best org infrastructure in place. Extremely unorganized. Leadership outright awful (verbally, emotionally, professionally, etc.) to employees (which were only black women). MD was particularly demeaning in how she spoke to people. Neither of them ever took accountability. Worse environment than working in corporate America honestly.

Don’t do it

Pros

Remote work and winter sabbatical (depending on your role)

Cons

Micromanaging, belittling staff, don’t practice what they preach to the outside world. They don’t care about the mental health of the staff. They don’t pay what you deserve but love to say “they pay the most competitive salaries”. If you have your own ideas and want a job where you can actually do the work you were paid to do, this is not the job. They want “yes” people who will do whatever they say and when they don’t get the results they like, they’re upset.

Pros

The remote work was a plus.

Cons

Leadership wasn't great. Last minute work. Not able to defend yourself.
