Pros

Great product that fills a real need & that clients love - when the company decides to listen to what they ask for, at least...

Cons

Wildly incompetent, self-absorbed, and egotistical management that's run the company into the ground from a high point of big potential a year or two ago, to its current collapse. Below-average pay on top of that with huge differences between AEs (some make 3x the base of others for the same job). Add on top an anti-sales culture that makes product decisions in a bubble without ever consulting anyone market-facing who talks to actual users, and the writing is on the wall. Stay far, far away.

Pros

Employees are great, the product is great (although it could be entirely voided any time if Github or such released a similar feature)

Cons

You are definitely considered a resource to be squeezed to death by management with no benefit whatsoever. Oftenly, more than 50hours/week

Pros

As a growing company, they have a solid customer base, but more importantly are solving a serious issue that is quickly emerging as a very serious security concern: secrets detection and remediation. For a company based in France they have a very global mindset. The amount of team building and company value education that goes on is a very healthy sign for the longevity of the org. From a go-to-market position, they are at the right time and have the right solution for a truly global issue in security to be a very successful business over the next several years.

Cons

As with any growing company, there is still a bit of a learning curve going on, and processes are still being developed and hardened. If you are someone who needs well established structure, then no start-up would be a good fit. There are also sometimes language barriers as the company strives to be global yet stay based in Paris. No giant red flags overall, though.

GitGuardian Response

Many thanks for your review! Indeed we have a global mission: help developers and companies secure their source code. The fact that 80% of our customers are US companies makes our product global “by design.” Concerning the “under-construction” / evolving environment, it is indeed a fact to have in mind joining a scale-up company, we try to respond to it by a strong documentation culture. Regarding the language barrier, we are aware of this element and we aim at finding ways to limit it as much as possible. For example we switched our all hands presentations to English last year as we count 12 nationalities in the team. Developing our team in the US is a key objective for the company in 2023!
