Pros

Good pay and good benefits. Exposed to a lot of different activities and events.

Cons

To be honest, there is only one main issue in RCP. And that depends on your reporting officer. You will know who I am talking about once you start working here. Almost everyday you will get criticised and yelled at with personal comments for unnecessary reasons. Which all happens in public spaces and group chats on purpose to humiliate you. You will be given multiple task with unrealistic deadlines. Sometimes even on friday evenings to make sure you have work over the weekend and I have even gotten task while i was on leave. Whats worst is that you will get NO feedback. So all the work you did was for nothing. The people that have resigned all face the same thing which is why RCP have had the highest turn over rate. We are treated like punching bags instead of a colleague just for a senior that dont even have good planning and management and blames you instead. Anybody who wants to work in RCP please think twice. I am not exaggerating and its worst once you face it. If you are willing to go through the unnecessary stress and trauma, all the best and good luck.

Pros

- River Care department teammates are quite helpful and willing to work together despite you being a fresh graduate. Unless you're under River Care programme, be prepared for a downhill moment in your career.

Cons

- Please, please read your contract before you sign anything with this NGO. There's a legal manipulation in the contract stating, to leave you need to tender 6 months notice, applies to even the most junior position. This is modern slavery and indirect manipulation of fresh graduates. - No room for progression. All positions are held by the same individuals for past 8-10 years. NGO's hierarchy is very different from a MNC. If you are reading this, assuming you are a fresh graduate, keep this in mind. Please do read below, I just do not wish another person to experience the same. - Please do ask about the turnover rate and reasons people leave in your interview. Remember, interview is a 2 way street. Do not let them to manipulate your situation of not having a job. - This company's priorities are reports, reports and reports. Most reports are surface level information you can find on the net and it's just to please Forestry Department. Basically, to get on the good side of Forestry Department, regardless what happens on the ground. You as an employee, will be under immense pressure to complete the report. If you are truthful to conservation, this might be conflicting to your principles. - Do not bother reporting to the HR department if there's any issues pertaining to your superior. It doesn't work in this place. - Do not be deceived by the the idea of it's a good NGO because a whiteman is running the show. Please educate yourself well before stepping into their office. - Individuals in-charge of the departments consist of self-declared experts, in another word Jaguh Kampung. Some can be displaying act of rowdyism when there's valid opposition. - Most of the employees are unfortunate fresh graduates from rural areas which are being "exploited". Unless you are really really desperate for a job at the expense of your emotional health, please do not work here. - PLEASE do not let companies to take advantage of our situations at all cost. It is just not worth it.

Pros

Good exposure and good benefits

Cons

If you ever want to feel or experience real toxicity in your life, try working here. The most toxic place ever. Politics over politics, with managers and seniors playing their little games every day. The benefits they give are basically to cover up all the toxic things the managers do to their staff. At one point your mental state will break and your health will be ruined completely. But still they will frame you as if you did nothing. They will use you to the maximum and the moment you make one small mistake they will drop you very fast. Please forget about the word appreciation. The managers and most of the seniors will never appreciate you. The amount of torture and humiliation they put their staff through is unbelievable. If just one report goes to the labor office, action will definitely be taken. But with the way they threaten the staff, especially threatening regarding salaries, everyone is scared to report anything. Once again I am telling you, this is the most toxic place ever.
