Horrible company

Pros

Free product and you do get to learn some things here and there, it's not an absolutely horrible company.

Cons

Management is horrible, they lack transparency but insist that you be transparent with them at all times. Often times, they will say one thing to you while telling the rest of the team a completely different story. You could end up working for them without pay for nearly a month or more if you don't speak up. Very shady business.

Pros

There is a lot of gratis, pretty good casual dress code. I have the option to dye my hair. There are also free taxi rides to avoid subway traffic. The company does provide a great opportunity. There is plentiful amount of work to be done.

Cons

Extremely disorganized and everyone admits that. Your boss will most likely throw you into the wilderness starving and demand you to accomplish multiple tasks. Paycheck is meager and late. They even ask you to buy coffees for everyone else. Everyone is just wearing a fake mask with a smiley face while deep down it’s a depressing work space. People are ready to throw each other under the bus. Management expects you to stay late every day and get there early on some days.

Awful job, awful people

Pros

There are absolutely no pros.

Cons

The worst experience...and I’ve been around the block. The owners were extremely disorganized and shady. I got paid meager dollars which actually added up to be less than minimum wage I realized (too late), and was expected to work late hours every day. The owners are extremely controlling over your life, including what you post on your personal social channels. They will also talk smack about everyone behind their backs but pretend to be nice in front of your face. They won’t provide you with your deposit slips. No vacation time, actually no benefits at all. They don’t follow regulations and will tell clients whatever they want in order to sell. They hire people as “interns” so that they don’t have to pay them, but have these interns run stupid personal assistant type errands like grabbing breakfast or dropping things off at editors’ instead of sending a messenger. Or even have an intern do the job of a head count they should be paying a MANAGER for and then have them tell outsiders that they’re a manager but internally they are “paid” as an intern. There are no opportunities to grow your career here because you just do what they tell you to do.
