Pros

Working outside with similar minded people

Cons

We were given no breaks as walking around the site on patrol and constantly looking out for guests was considered a 'break'. Colleague harassment was not taken seriously and quickly dismissed. Staff are treated unfairly, due to sex, mental health, availability and hierarchy to name a few. Staff are encouraged to train as a 'senior instructor' for months meaning they are doing exactly what a senior instructor does, but without the pay. The managers have no intention of officially making these staff senior instructors, this happened to so many staff.

Pros

Day-to-day is interesting Physical job - stay in shape Always new and exciting people to meet Fun culture

Cons

Company is built on the backs of seasonal employees that are laid off each year Pay is always an issue - negotiation is put off, starting manager salaries are abysmal Work/life balance is nill - get called on vacation, work on holidays, unpredictable shifts Very little protection from the elements - most locations are in a trailer, or operate in very hot climates. Required to buy a $100 raincoat immediately after hire on part-time wages

Pros

Get to be outside, work with people who become your friend, climb up on tree top adventure courses

Cons

A bit monotonous, the safety brief you give is the same every day (obviously as safety doesn't really change), you walk the same route all the time. It can just get boring sometimes.
