Pros

The benefits are likely the best part of this job. Sadly the only pro about this job.

Cons

They advertise unlimited PTO, but it’s not genuinely offered. There's a high turnover rate, including among upper management and key employees who contribute valuable ideas and improvements to the company. Leadership is clueless about the technical scope and lacks decision-making ability. Goals are constantly changing, and there's never enough time to complete anything. Morale is consistently low, with no bonuses or opportunities for advancement, and goals are shifted each quarter. The environment is toxic, with leadership constantly trying to control the narrative both internally and externally. Employees can't post in channels without approval, and the content is a mix of good and bad news. Leadership attempts to paint an overly positive picture, but in reality, things are bad. Private channels are exclusive to favorites, and sharing concerns with leadership results in punishment. There is no psychological safety, and fear and negativity are commonly used as scare tactics.

Thank you for sharing your concerns and for the commitment you've shown to Going and our mission. It's encouraging to hear that you find value in the benefits, the people, and the industry we're passionate about. The remote work culture and opportunities to work from anywhere are aspects we're proud to offer our team members. We strive to be a great place to work, enabling our team to learn and thrive. While we are always seeking to improve our voluntary retention at Going, we’re proud of our < 5% voluntary turnover rate this past year. Turnover is a complex issue many companies face, and we approach each case with the utmost attention and care. We strive to understand the reasons behind each departure and learn from them, always being mindful of the privacy of our departing colleagues, voluntary or otherwise. It's a delicate balance, and your feedback helps us consider refinement to our approach and communication. The concerns you've raised about leadership and the atmosphere within the company are troubling. We are actively seeking ways to address these challenges. This includes better communication around changes, continued investment in our Management Circles program to enable our managers to be excellent leaders, and a focused effort to bring experienced leadership into our ranks to guide our growth and nurture a supportive, inclusive environment. We understand that actions speak louder than words. Therefore, I'd like to invite you to reach out to me directly, your manager, or our People Team to discuss your feedback in more detail. This will allow us to implement a more actionable plan, one that addresses your concerns more directly and effectively. Your insights are crucial to us as we strive to create a better working environment for everyone. Thank you for pushing us to look inward and improve. Warmly, Megan, VP Operations

Pros

Scott's Cheap Flights changed my life even before I was an employee. After using the service for a year, I knew I wanted to work for this company! And, working for SCF has been even more life-changing - yes, for the remote factor, but also because I truly feel valued as a contributor to the company. For being remote, the teamwork is top knotch, and individually I'm empowered to make decisions and share my ideas. The benefits are excellent, too: competitive compensation, health insurance, 401k, unlimited PTO, and more! Accepting a position with SCF was one of the best life decisions I've ever made!

Cons

Not seeing my incredible teammates face-to-face. But we have daily interaction - and I'm grateful to work with folks who are equally happy to do what we do!
