Sad outlook for a once promising organization

Pros

Mission aligns with my personal values. There is a large amount of untapped talent and caring staff.

Cons

Put simply, senior leadership is the con of this organization. The executive team lacks accountability and has made a series of decisions void of integrity and due diligence. Short-sighted decision-making from this team has resulted in a series of staff layoffs. Senior leadership denies responsibility for these decisions as well as the poorly managed budget and finances. Fear-based leadership is the new norm and tolerated by the CEO.

Lacks strong leadership from the top down

Pros

Good pay, flexible hours, great mission of participants

Cons

Little room for growth - at the corporate level and in retail stores. CEO cares more about the S&P participants than he does his own employees. He is trying to grow the programs faster than the infrastructure and other departments can support. He set an unrealistic budget in order to support programs and, when the budget could not be met, he cut FT corporate employees.

Pros

The staff in middle management and the front lines are capable and hardworking. However, the top level executives are guilty of woeful incompetence, corporate greed, and lack of accountability for their knee jerk decisions which will have far reaching and lasting implications for the entire organization.

Cons

In the space of one year, departments have been reorganized four times. Entire departments that perform core operational functions were eliminated with no subsequent plans in place. Much press has been given to the countless new stores opening, but there is no infrastructure in place to support growth. It's worth noting that the CEO, Michael Wirth-Davis, continues to retain two assistants. Major financial missteps have been made, yet the CFO Jason Seifert arranged to be on tropical vacation while entire departments were laid off. There is org-wide unease and distrust. You can hear a pin drop, not just due to all the empty cubicle space, but also the absence of any executives answering for their recent actions. Avoid working for this organization.
