Pros

Great culture with smart, driven people who genuinely care about doing things the right way. This is a great place for people who want to grow fast and make an impact. You’re trusted to own your work, and strong performance is recognized. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and low‑ego, with leadership that truly listens. Leadership is transparent and approachable, and there’s a strong emphasis on ownership and accountability. The company is growing quickly, which creates lots of opportunities to learn and take on meaningful responsibility.

Cons

Like many other high growth companies, growth means things move quickly, and the pace isn’t for everyone. That said, leadership is open to feedback and continuously improving processes.

Pros

Good coworkers who genuinely try to help each other. Opportunities to learn quickly because of the complexity of the work. Exposure to different parts of the business.

Cons

Heavy workloads that do not match current staffing levels. Constant priority shifts that lead to rework and stress. Limited cross functional accountability, which pushes unfinished work downstream. Processes and systems that are not mature enough to support the pace of growth. Lack of clarity in resource planning.

Thank you for sharing this feedback. As a growing company, we know we won’t always get everything right, and hearing directly from employees who’ve experienced our evolution firsthand is incredibly valuable. We’re glad to hear that you found support from your coworkers and had opportunities to learn across different parts of the business. Those are strengths we’re proud of and want to continue building on. At the same time, we recognize that growth brings challenges, and your comments highlight several areas where we need to improve. We know our workload expectations, planning processes, and cross‑functional alignment haven’t always kept pace with the speed at which we’re scaling. Your feedback reinforces the importance of creating more stability in our priorities, maturing our systems, and ensuring responsibilities are appropriately resourced and clearly owned. We’re committed to strengthening these areas. As we continue to grow, we are actively investing in better planning, improved processes, and systems that support teams while ensuring teams have the bandwidth they need. Feedback like yours helps guide where we focus, and we truly appreciate the time you took to share it. Thank you again for your honesty and for the contributions you made during your time with us. We’re always striving to get better, and insights like these play an important role in that progress.

Smiles on the Surface, Stress Beneath

Pros

The team is made up of highly skilled and passionate people who are dedicated to producing quality work. While many are willing to offer support when needed, it's important to navigate relationships carefully.

Cons

The workplace environment can feel exclusionary, with a strong sense of favoritism that may hinder career progression for those outside certain circles. Unfortunately, the culture within the team, particularly among upper management, can be disingenuous. They may present a friendly and supportive front, offering encouragement and praise, only to later act in ways that undermine your efforts or position. Beyond leadership dynamics, the overall environment can feel toxic and emotionally draining. From the moment you walk in, there’s a palpable tension in the air, like a hidden layer of judgment and criticism. Micromanagement is rampant, and even minor mistakes are magnified, creating a culture of fear rather than growth. Constructive feedback is rare; instead, nitpicking and passive-aggressive behavior seem to be the norm, making it difficult to feel valued or secure in your role.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are genuinely sorry to hear that you felt this way during your time with Gorilla Commerce. A core part of our culture is fostering an environment where every team member feels respected, supported, and able to grow professionally. When an employee feels excluded or unheard, that signals an area for improvement that we take seriously. We understand how important transparency, psychological safety, and authentic leadership are in maintaining a healthy workplace. We are actively investing in expanded leadership development, manager coaching, and structured feedback channels to ensure all voices feel valued—not just heard. We also encourage current and former team members to provide feedback directly through our internal employee engagement tools or HR team. These conversations help us turn constructive criticism into meaningful action. We appreciate your suggestions on communication and emotional intelligence training and will continue working to strengthen trust, clarity, and connection across all levels of the company. We sincerely appreciate your continued contributions and look forward to growing together as we move ahead.
