Pros

Good pay, benefits. Friendly employees. New beds added. Good heart center.

Cons

Patient care is sacrificed for the almighty dollar. Charge nurses have a patient assignment. Patients wait days for a room. No privacy or confidentiality. 7-8 patients per nurse. High turn-over rate. Hospital never goes on diversion but two area hospitals do which only makes the ED even more stressful.

Pros

If you are looking for a challenge and like to stay busy, you will definitely find that here. As a trauma center, you will also find a broad, fairly acutely ill patient population.

Cons

This company consistently puts dollars before patient safety and outcomes. This is a hospital where you will be constantly understaffed and overwhelmed, and for all of that extra work they don’t even pay well. Grand Strand medical center keeps increasing patient ratios while decreasing other resources, and wonders why their staff retention is so horrible. I am happy to work hard all day without a break if I have to in order to do right by my patients, but here I do all that I can do and still feel like my patients are being neglected despite my best efforts.

Pros

Hospital and clinic staff are friendly and helpful.

Cons

Administration only focuses on generating income. They don’t address problems or concerns. Stopped paying call pay. Have to do own billing codes and then Billing removes or changes to lower RVU and nobody will fix.
