Pros

People and benefits are still good but the culture is definitely changing for the worse.

Cons

The new CEO has turned this company from a company that cares about it's employees to one that sees you as just a number. In fact, he recently made a joke after laying off people and said you guys can stop hiding from me now. Absolutely heartless and treating long time employees like they're worthless. It's all fun and games to him sitting on his high horse while he orchestrates his minions.

New regime is destroying the culture

Pros

The benefits are outstanding, most of the people are great

Cons

New leadership is killing what was once a phenomenal place to work. Family-owned company that used to actually care about employees. Now it is run like a faceless corporation where employees are just numbers. Where there was once true team support there is backstabbing, it’s an environment where everyone is just out for themselves. Questionable decisions and behavior by new leadership, with no repercussions (why would there be, they’re in charge), but minor infractions by employees are often overblown. If management continues to allow the culture and values to be diminished through their own actions, the morale will continue to drop and soon the company’s long established reputation in the community will falter. And that will be hard to rebuild.

Pros

Benefits, decent compensation, low stress employer, local with main office fairly central. Health insurance. Discount on building materials and aggregate.

Cons

There is no opportunity for advancement. The company is very much antiquated in HR process, development, or utilizing innovative ideas. Even though a lot of positions are not union based, the company very much runs like a union based company as time served is weighted heavier than actual talent.
