Pros

Other employees make GC a place to come back to every day. Time off through the year and 7 hour work days, Friday's off in the summer-

Cons

Management is wet behind the ears and not seasoned. Too many huge changes and initiatives for the company piggy backed on the horrible wage compensation for everyone not in upper management is taking its toll on everyone. It has become a place to endure rather than a place to serve well and grow.

Pros

When there’s down time, you can catch up on other tasks that are ongoing all the time. Free food at campus events every now and then. Paid time off and sick time accrual is quick.

Cons

Heavy workload in every department, especially advising, financial aid, admissions and registration. Barely any training other than shadowing people who are still learning as well. You are expected to wear multiple hats, keep up with processes that change overnight, no one is ever on the same page, pay can be terrible in certain positions (administrative assistant, admission specialists, financial aid advisors), your manager makes or breaks you, the software and networks are terrible (crashes on the first day of class, freezes throughout the day, locks you out of tabs you need to use, data is skewed- can’t trust it, mistakes are constantly made on student accounts) and you are having to work around this lousy system most of the day adding to your workload. In the summers you work 4 days 10 hrs to have fridays off. No work from home. This is hard on employees with families. So much is wrong here and it is not being fixed quickly, most of it is overlooked or downplayed. No room for growth, very picking in hiring and rarely hire internally because you rubbed someone somewhere the wrong way at some point. There is almost zero diversity and cultural awareness initiatives and it shows from the top down. If you care about your job you have to time your days off just right to avoid coming to the office to a full voicemail, hundreds of emails, and catching up for two weeks. The workload is crazy and too much at times. Think twice before applying here unless you want to simply gain experience and leave.
