Pros
Some cool people, sometimes they throw parties with food and booze, the building is nice, they provide benefits.
Cons
Interviewing When you interview here, you'll be promised all of these awesome things, not least of which being how much they help causes in need. There is a small amount of that going on, but the rest is a ruse for the upper execs to line their pockets. This is not a non-profit. People are actually making money off people who want to help other people. Think about that. Wages They act like they are doing all this work on behalf of these causes, but while the executives are getting paid out pretty fat, the rest of the company are suffering with $15/hour wages. Experienced individuals with college degrees are often making less than $20/hour. Do not work here if you like buying stuff, like food and toilet paper. Executives Which brings me to my next point. Many of those upper level executives are mean people. They order people around, they have "teacher's pets" who grovel at their feet, and I can think of many instances when an executive (who is still there mind you) was sexually inappropriate, sexist, and just all-around an evil person. He has been reported to HR multiple times. He's beyond reproach. This company routinely promotes people who are wildly incompetent. People are promoted on favor and not skill. HR Nice. But doesn't act when critical instances are reported. Not sure if this is incompetence or the fear the upper levels ground into said person's soul. Don’t go to HR for a serious problem. Career advancement You will not be listened to. I worked there for years and I helped the company be as successful as it is (depending on what you call success). I had many ideas and expressed them to anyone who would listen, including the CEO. They'll go "oh yeah, that's great, good stuff, let's do that." They're just shutting you up. They don't care to make the company better, because it's already doing what it was meant to do: line the pockets of a select few upper mgmt. Sum it up If you are coming here to make a difference, make money, or move up in your career, look elsewhere. If you need something to pass the time and want to work in a nice building, get benefits, but don’t really care about career advancement or your contributions, it’s a great choice. Good for someone out of college.
