RUN - DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.

Pros

Remote work, unlimited PTO, and some genuinely great people. There are talented individual contributors who care about doing good work and supporting each other.

Cons

Very uncertain environment following the acquisition. Priorities change frequently, leadership communication is inconsistent, and the pressure can be extremely high. Workdays can stretch to 12–14 hours, and there is a feeling that if everything is not completed immediately, your job could be at risk. There has also been noticeable turnover, and some staffing decisions feel abrupt and unclear. Remote employees are left with little clarity about whether remote work will continue.

Pros

Flexible PTO, decent benefits for employees, remote, office equipment stipend

Cons

The AML team at Green Dot is extremely overworked and underpaid. The company was recently acquired by private equity, creating uncertainty and frequent changes in priorities and processes. There are an overwhelming number of different workflows that are difficult to follow and execute consistently. Investigation processes are very fragmented and manual, often relying on various third party tools that frequently do not work resulting in investigators having to rely on manual workarounds. Middle management frequently requests overtime and weekend work with little to no advance notice, while the incentive for the extra hours is a gift card. It is busy at all times without a single moment to breathe and burnout comes very fast. Team morale is noticeably low and many employees are frustrated and feeling stuck.
