Leadership operates in fear, deterring others to offer opinions or insight because of this. Nor does Leadership listen to the opinion of others. The organization is also out of touch with the modern age. Technology is scaled back so much it’s a challenge to use what they do offer. Working from home during the pandemic was out of necessity but they are eager to nip that quickly as demonstrated by their lack of telework options and technology. The organization does not believe his employees will be productive working from home.
Their HR department is merely transactional. They will tell you all about their 35 years of experience but seems to seldom use it. They also actively only hire people who don’t have kids so they can work all the time. All HR-related decisions come from their parent company so HR is not much of a resource despite withholding information to make them feel warranted.
IT doesn’t care. Help Desk tickets are quickly dismissed or forgotten about. If you are a new employee, it will be weeks to get a workstation and a badge. IT employees dismiss questions or suggestions with “I’m just a worker.” No initiative or effort to help.
Leaders of the organization have worked together for years. If you have an issue with 1, you have an issue with all and are quickly branded a bad egg. There is no incentive to work hard or maximize each month when you know, regardless of your performance, the company will pay you a 2% increase. The focus is never on the customers or employees.
