Pros

If you're in a position in life where you absolutely need a job this is a place to work. This job is very good for college students or people who have felonies and cant get a job anywhere else. You can also get fired and get your job back the next day. The bottom line is, this place always needs more bodies to help out, and you can get paid more as a line cook here than as a kitchen manager almost anywhere else. If you prove your worth here, you will always have a job here. Many of the managers are tough and not always the friendliest but decent human beings.

Cons

This is a tough job, the owners are filthy rich and don't care very much about their employees. What the owners do care about is opening up other restaurants and building their empire. This place makes more money than almost any other restaurant in Texas and never has enough equipment, such as pans, utensils, and even cleaning towels. Most of the large equipment needs to be replaced and mostly everything is basically broken. The majority of the time that I worked here the kitchens ventilation system barely worked, which has cause heath issues for multiple employees. You will work 14 hour days here, and be expected to come back first thing in the morning, 6 days a week during the summertime. Floor managers also like to seat this giant restaurant all at the time time and slam the kitchen with no forewarning whatsoever. Most of the employees here are not very happy, but they need the money.

Pros

cool restaurant in a pretty area, thats the only upside

Cons

Horrible management. You are not paid for before or after closing and opening work which usually takes anywhere from an hour to two hours, Which is two hours you are not getting paid. If you don't make minimum wage with tips the system wont let you close out and since the managers leave as soon as the restaurant closes you have to just put in an amount that lets you leave. Because if you don't close out you get in trouble/ practically cannot leave. If anyone that isn't "new" (which is a small handful because anyone that has the chance to quit does) or the managers decides they don't like you, you get blacklisted from getting any section that you could make a reasonable amount of money in, and are then assigned the most time consuming closing work. So then not only are you not making any money, then not even being able to make it known you did not break minimum wage, you're also staying longer than 95% of the other servers. When you are interviewed you are told that the jobs tough because it is outdoors in the Texas heat, while the heat does get a little unbearable it does not compare in the slightest to how bad the managers and the "long term" employees treat you. If you got this far, and can almost guarantee you that you will be better off working at a fast food restaurant, and probably make more as well.

Pros

The money was okay, but I could've made so much more money if I just worked Tuesdays and weekends and got a different job the other days of the week instead of wasting my time making around thirty bucks in a weekday lunch shift. You walk and sweat so much, I lost about 20 lbs over the summer

Cons

Get ready to loose feeling in your fingertips from boiling plates and have blisters covering your feet. Literally, no one cares about you; whether your feet hurt from working 12 hours with no break, whether it's 105 outside and you think heatstroke is upon you or whether you ate today and might pass out. I fell down the stairs once and was crying and the managers treated me like an inconvience, were angry the next two days when I had to call in, and didn't give me workers comp or anything, (I had to go to the ER and they thought I broke my pelvis). The kitchen is gross, there's never enough silverware, drink trays, cups, plates, or people working in the kitchen. Everyone hates you if you're new, no matter what. If you start sucking up to headwaiters, it helps you get out before 1 am
