Pros

Group Commerce has awesome intentions. It has the opportunity to go very far. The CEO is AWESOME. The compensation and benefits are undeniably very good.

Cons

Unfortunately, this young and hip company has hired VERY inexperienced employees who have been promoted with virtually zero experience prior to Group Commerce. Mid level sales management is extremely arrogant and rude to AE's and confuses it for confidence. The middle management (Regional Sales Managers) lack serious integrity, respect, training and experience. This company is under the misconception that a good sales person makes a good manager, and this is entirely wrong. The Account Executives don't feel comfortable stating their opinions and feel devalued from the local RSM's. The remote sales people don't feel properly managed, supported or respected. This issue is by far this company's weakest link.

Pros

The majority of the staff is fantastic. A lot of inspiring leaders, and there is a great deal to be learned from them IF you work in the New York office. The company is lead by extremely smart and forward thinking individuals that act like they care about their employees. The technology is great and the majority of the clients are fun to represent.

Cons

The commission structure was changed right after several Account Executives were hired, and many felt extremely mislead, as no one would make the amount they were projected upon hiring. Also, monetary incentives heavily favor those working in the NYC office, as the majority of other US cities do not have the list sizes to fairly compete. Goal expectations that were given in the interview & training process were doubled once I started working. Management throws out number goals without a plan to get there. You never know how you are stacking up performance-wise for the amount of time you have been employed, unless they are warning you that you may be let go - and by that time it may be too late. Management has routinely let remote staff go without mentioning anything to the rest of the team, which has created a distrust among the sales staff. Some members of management are very unprofessional.
