The owners are also the sales people, so there is constantly pressure on the technical ressources of the company. Reps are poaching resources left and right, trying to push their clients' projects first instead of collaborating and sharing. Lots of unreasonable expectations are put on the staff and you constantly feel like you need to reassure your value as a professional. There is a lot of work to do in terms of coordination between vague deliverables and setting the correct client expectations. They will tell you that they care about their employees and that you are part of the family very quickly. As with many other SMEs, unfortunately that is mostly talk and not much action. Finally, the compensation is quite low compared to other offerings. Negotiating this will only make you be seen as greedy and may put you closer to the exit door.
