Pros

There are some mid-level managers / management that understand how a true enterprise operates and are trying to do right by the company and its employees.

Cons

Upper management and majority of the mid-management don't seem to have worked in any enterprise retail environment before. Anyone who has been brought into this company from any actual enterprise retail environment quickly realizes (like myself) that this company truly has no clue how to properly operate. Darren and Michael (CEO & President respectively) operate in the mindset that all the failure that is currently going on within the company is everyone else's fault and not their own. This company is BLEEDING money and rolling through staff like they are matches. They have fired / let go / lost of around 20 - 30 Sr., Director, and VP level employees throughout 2022 because they don't want to provide even a cost-of-living increase to employees that operate above and beyond the level of respect and effort they receive from any individual from upper management. I worked for this company for a year and a half and didn't see a single increase in pay.

Pros

Cons

This company 100% is a corporate cash grab. The CEO sold off over 20 million in stock before our stock took a huge dive. Our CIO walked out a few days prior to the stock drop and sell off. GrowGen is the third in line of the company’s Darren Lampart and Michael Salaman have tanked. The management is atrocious. The policies in place are so backwards that they are designed for the customer to loose business.

Pros

Opened my eyes to what I will no longer tolerate in the workplace, helping me realize there are MUCH BETTER companies to work for.

Cons

In my opinion, they have appointed an inexperienced & self-serving CFO to take on the challenging task of a tanking market with their stock reflecting as such. Upper and Middle Management is constantly changing. They are always hiring for the same positions because they can't keep anyone around. Don't be fooled, it has nothing to do with them growing. Hard work goes unrecognized and they will bleed you dry. Management will take credit for your work and will throw you under the bus when its convenient for them. Work/Life balance is pretty much non existent since you are overworked and underpaid. Promotions and raises are few and far between. Favoritism and nepotism is prevalent so be prepared to play "the game". Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time with the shady execs that work for this company.
