Pros

discount nothing else of note

Cons

The company is rotten from the head down. Sean Guiry has no clue how to run a company aside from grinding down and under paying/training employees. He keeps poor even nasty people in upper management positions. Raises aren't forthcoming regardless of your review and the company has no contingency plans for the departure of key employees aside from piling work on others who usually aren't trained to handle the problem. The company refuses to handle these issues and as such loses employees faster than any company I've ever seen.

Pros

Great customers! This was the best part.

Cons

THERE'S A REASON WHY THEY ARE CONSTANTLY POSTING DESIGN SALES JOBS! Owner makes profits on paint and uses "design" sector as cheap labor for non commissioned color consults, cashier, merchandising and cleaning. They entice you with commission potential, do not train on the antiquated systems where you're expected to input highly detailed info for measures/specs (if you screw up you lose commission) on the floor while customers are constantly needing you. Additionally they give you 1 computer per 2-4 sales person so you better hope you can get the computer at some point. On top of working a busy showroom you must also cover the cash register because they lose so many of those employees. The only thing you make any significant commission on (window treatments ) - you are not allowed to focus on enough to make the living they say you can. Too bad the 60 or more(just from the 18 months I was there) of misled hired people who on average quit within 3 months, haven't written their disappointed experience to help others not have to go through this wheel-spinning- time wasting job. Design department is a chaotic Mish mash. Guirys is owned by a despotic, unrealistic sporadic son of a family who fought and finally left for him to run at his own whim. If you want to make minimum wage, feel like a hamster in a crowded cage, and be repremanded for not making commision, then this is a great way to make you confirm crazy self defeating behavior.

Pros

Only good thing we’re the friends I made and my manager was awesome. Also leaving the company was probably my best day there

Cons

Where to begin... Upper management could care less about how their workers are doing. There is ever any communication. Literally ZERO incentives to do better or work harder. Yet they expect everyone to work 50 hours a week with no wiggle room to for your personal life. Absolutely nowhere to move in this company. It’s a dead end job as soon as you start. Watched about 7 different people come in and out of the decorating department while I was there. Usually lots of drama and crying and playing favorites. Nobody gets trained properly there Art department is underpaid for how much they do. Every employee is under appreciated. The entire COVID ordeal was a Joke to Sean Guiry. Never put his foot down about a single thing. Didn’t give us any PPE supplies. Kept all the stores open until people started leaving. Only then did he send out an email to the CUSTOMERS (not his employees) about how we were sanitizing the stores and keeping up to code with regulations. (All lies) There was no hazard pay. Hours were cut. Pay rate is awful. They unfairly give raises.
