Work Environment/Management
Like your typical agency atmosphere - long hours, demanding clients, and generally stressful environment.
A culture of distrust - one HAD to call and speak to a manager for them to confirm based on how you sounded, that you were actually ill.
Glassdoor reviews were scrutinized and dissected by almost the entire company. Guesses and speculations were made as to the posters’ identities (Hi everyone!) The owner also directed managers to ask current employees to post reviews after each negative review.
The owner liked to frequently test out new management techniques without the knowledge of lower level employees. It was a constant test to optimize productivity, often with sacrifices in quality and a sense of security for the employees.
Benefits
Vacation started at 10 days with an eventual move up to 15. 15 days was the maximum that I was aware of.
Low starting salary.
Culture
There was a serious lack of diversity in race and age. Almost all of the employees were white and they seemingly preferred to only hire directly out of school.
The owner perpetuated a culture of casual sexism. Although the majority of the company was women, not very much was done to actively address sexist language or behavior.
