Pros

I've been working for Gurtam for 5+ years and grew from an HR specialist to a team leader with no prior leadership experience. I saw pretty often that people have a chance to grow or try some the other directions. I really witnessed that Gurtam is people-centric and the interests of each employee are taken into decision making when it is possible. During the relocation period the company cared a lot about its people feeling at home and having many chances to adapt to the new environment. Most of people I dealt with were very engaged, supportive, friendly but not necessarily easy to deal with on daily basis. The company has high expectations from everyone and my team had to keep up with that level. Some years back the company organized several 1-week workations for all employees paying for hotels, tickets and everything. It still lives in my memories :) I didn't experience any incorrect attitude or behaviour to my side. I do not even understand what the other comments are telling about. Some roles are paid very high but most of them are on average higher than the local market offers. Best performers were fairly compensated but in most cases you first need to show that you deserve it with your hard work and proactiveness (not just talks); The company is very stable, responsible to employees and partners - I have never heard about lay-offs or the other reputation risks. Overall Gurtam is a structured well-established company, at the same time there are very corporate teams and there are more startup-like ones. Still management tries to keep everything in order and get rid of chaos. So if you are a startup kind of person, it may be hard environment for you (but it depends on the team) [Neutral factor] The company is more about an office-first culture so it may work perfectly for some people and be not acceptable for the others. There are a lot of interesting staff happening in the office as yoga classes, hackathons, celebrations and so on. Free lunches is a super benefit to add on the top. [Neutral factor] The company has a high percentage of expats so the Lithuanian language will not be the primary language you hear in the corridor.

Cons

The company tends to use internally developed tools for separate departments. Some of them may be wonderful, the others may be not that great. There are business reasons for sure but be aware if this is critical for you :) Telematics field is something you are supposed to understand, especially if you work with clients of Gurtam. The company trains newcomers from scratch however the adaptation period is very demanding and intense. So if you receive a job offer to business development, technical support or something like this and you have no sincere intention to learn the domain deeply and in detail, I recommend you to consider different companies. Some teams may be bureaucratic due to various reasons but still. Some processes may feel as if existing for the sake of processes. If it is important for you, it is better to double check it with the hiring manager. They have no reasons to hide the truth as the company caters for long-term employment.

If you're a professional, consider another company

Pros

Free lunch for those who attend the office Mostly nice and creative people Fun corporate events (sometimes in specific locations) Corporate accounts for AI work tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, etc) Office yoga GTP - a system with an internal currency. If you save enough, you can make custom orders. The prices for the store items is usually very high, except for sale periods Coffee and cookies, if that's still the deal-breaker for anyone Flexibility and independence, if you're lucky enough to have a good team lead

Cons

A decent team lead is a rare thing at Gurtam, let alone a good one Everything you can find in those 1-star reviews is also true: Nepotism Favoritism. This is how you make it to the managing position. And if the manager doesn't like you, you will be forced to leave at some point Poor management (thanks to the points above, too). The board of management does nothing, can't communicate properly and shows disrespect to the employees Micromanagement at the level which is hard to imagine until you see it No support from HR, all those mood meetings and satisfaction surveys are just paperwork. If you bring up any concern, it won't be solved. Instead, it will be communicated to your manager, and they will get offended and mistreat you later. Employees are forced to use poor internal tools, losing a lot of work time for arranging a new VPN configuration, a new password tool, etc. Poor benefits for those without a family. Health insurance they use is cheap, learning is covered partially even for group classes, NY gifts became low quality a few years ago. Workshops and excursions in the Vilnius office have up to 15-20 spaces, which fill in the blink of an eye considering 300 people in this location. English speaking clubs are free, which is a pro, but the level of the participants isn't aligned, resulting in people with B1 level attending C1 group. The only real bonus provided by the company was relocation from Belarus some years ago. And they really mention the parking lot at the office (limited as mentioned in other reviews) as a bonus If you're not a developer, you most probably will not get a raise Which leads us to one more concern: in most departments, there is no transparent mechanism of getting a raise or a promotion Company's management is fixed on using AI, but doesn't want to hire dedicated specialists. Instead, every department (including HR, Business development, etc) is forced to create an AI bot, no matter the quality, or need of it, or number of tokens used There is no company-wide policy for AI-generated code: some departments delegate it completely, while others are prohibited from using AI for code-writing Most teams have to attend the office 3 times per week, on specific days, no skipping. If you skip a day, you have to come extra later No flexibility for the working location, not suitable for digital nomads. If you want to change your location, then you have to leave the company Not enough resources are being dedicated to the product that brings most of the money (including new features development, tech debt and bug fixing) Dark office, lack of meeting rooms, closing curtains in your office space or meeting rooms is prohibited Extremely high bureaucracy level, not matching the company size High-end private events only for the management team The functions of certain teams and managers remain a mystery to the rest of the organization I could go on with this until dawn, just consider another company instead

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad you mentioned several things that many people at Gurtam value: supportive colleagues, office benefits, corporate events, access to AI tools, and independence in work. At the same time, we’re sorry to hear that after many years with the company, your final impression is negative. Long-term employee experience is rarely simple or one-sided. It can include both valuable opportunities and real disappointments, and we believe it is important to acknowledge both. We don’t want to dismiss the concerns you raised. Topics such as management quality, fairness, growth transparency, internal communication, benefits, tools, and trust in feedback processes are important. We know that we still have areas to improve, and we continue working on clearer communication, stronger management practices, more structured growth processes, and better feedback loops across teams. Regarding AI, our approach is intentional. We encourage hands-on experimentation because we believe people can only learn to use AI effectively by applying it to real work. At the same time, we understand that this is a developing area, and it takes time to align expectations, guidelines, and quality standards across the company. Gurtam is not perfect, and it may not be the right fit for everyone at every stage. But we do care about creating an environment where people can do meaningful work, take ownership, grow professionally, and contribute to the company’s future. Thank you again for your perspective. Difficult feedback also helps us understand where more attention is needed.

Pros

I worked at Gurtam for 5 years. During my first 1.5 years, I worked in the Finance department, and later I had the opportunity to reskill and move into a software developer role. This kind of internal growth and career transition is something I really value. Gurtam has many excellent specialists, supportive colleagues, and strong managers. While working there, I made true friends who were always ready to help and support me. The company has a very friendly and collaborative atmosphere. The product is interesting, and the company provides great opportunities for learning and professional development, including hackathons and other initiatives. The HR team is always helpful and organizes excellent events, both for employees and their families. There are also many great company activities, teambuilding events and development focused initiatives. The CEO is great and inspiring. Salaries are competitive, and overall the company offers a very positive working environment. tkan

Cons

No negatives. The only real risk is that with company paid lunches and a kitchen always full of food, you might leave with great memories… and a few extra kilos.

Thank you for sharing this and for being part of Gurtam for 5 years. We’re happy that Gurtam could be a place where your transition from Finance to Software Development happened with the support of colleagues, managers, and the wider team around you. We're glad to hear you had a positive experience within your team, and the company overall. And about the extra kilos... we’ll take that as a very serious side effect of free lunches and kitchen stocks :)
