Pros

They do a nice dog and pony show when taking over your facility.

Cons

-impossible productivity standards -facilities are dirty -therapists not ethical or honest -therapists billing for treatment when they sat on their computer the entire session to meet their productivity standard -patients in high RUG groups that had no business being there -if you need help from upper level management, you should make sure to call them at least once a day and hope they return your calls -I have never filled out so much paperwork to get a job in my life

Pros

Competitive pay and fair PTO Accrual. My mentor when the company took over was exceptional and knowledgeable and if she had been my regional I would have stayed.

Cons

Poor upper management, unrealistic standards related to geographical location and poor knowledge of the area regarding staffing issues. Very poor response from HR and recruiters lost potential employees due to poor follow up. I've been a therapist for 23 years and in all levels of management and I can assure this company has way too much paperwork thats redundant, expects unrealistic RUG utilization and is about the bottom dollar. Left a building I had planned to retire in and had been in for eight years when Halcyon took over. It was a tough decision, but I refuse to have a manager 500 miles away who has never even seen my building tell me what category in or part B minutes my patients should be have. Very disappointed I had to leave a building I loved because I wouldn't comply with their unethical standards. I'm about the patient and if you are a therapist with any ethics stay away

Pros

they do pay 750 a year ceu

Cons

Unrealistic productivity, inappropriate RUG levels, Therapist reprimanded and minutes cut the next day if over providing minutes for those who need it. Patients who are too sick to participate, they are given double minutes to make up rug even if it means they are sent to hospital. untreated cancer patients who were on and will go back to hospice are put in Ultra high whether they need it or can actually participate at that level. As long as you bill the correct minutes and reach your productivity quota you can take two hours for lunch and that is ok. I think with the new changes all patients will suddenly need speech therapy and only get 30 minutes of therapy as they wont make any more money on providing more
