I worked at HARROLDS part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Colleagues were friendly - Working with beautiful product

    Cons

    - Upper management always tried to intimidate you every time they visit. - Floor manager would spy on how I was selling to clients. I was even yelled at while greeting customers at the door on how to sell a suit. - Always yelled at and even had fingers clicked, whistled and clapped at to disperse when employees were in the same room - Was not even properly trained to use the POS system and always needed assistance even during busy hours - No staff room to take a break - Phones were kept in lockers - You were only given shifts if you made more money. The Chinese employees most likely to have more shifts because they made more money - Was called on my day off to personally deliver a client’s jeans that were taken to the wrong tailor the day before the client was due to fly out. This was the same day I quit.

I worked at HARROLDS full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Have incredible luxury brands, fabulous store and with the right management team would be incredible.

    Cons

Very disappointed as I experienced a disorganised company poor communication I resigned less than 24 hours after starting due to so many contradictions between departments and what was offered at interview. Had requested from owner at interview what my training induction would include turned out - position was oversold and certainly should not have had a “Manager” title.

I worked at HARROLDS full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I worked with the business for 5 and a half years and through this period I was provided with hands on experience across all departments as well as establishing great relationships with all brands, clients and other partners. I was definitely thrown in the deep end but this is how you get the best experience!

    Cons

A lack of career development, was provided with little guidance as to how to further my career within the business.
