Pros

Aesthetically beautiful and showy office. You will literally sit 6" away from all your co-workers in the open office environment.

Cons

It all starts from the top, at Hatch Beauty it's with the 2 co-founders and EVP. Ego-obsessed, catty, childish and unprofessional are the immediate words that come to mind. Extremely aggressive and unhealthy expectations foster an incredibly stressful work environment. Turnover at a soaring ly high rate results in severe lack of training yet management will hold staff accountable for SOP's rarely followed by themselves or their 'favorite' employees. Save your reputation and energy and apply it with a different company that truly values its employees and their hard work and dedication.

Pros

Good benefits. Great coworkers. You work on something new everyday!

Cons

Poorly organized, cliquey and too many cooks in the kitchen. The positive reviews on here were left by employees with strong ties to the company who have been brain washed into the hatch way; or employees who have been with the company since the beginning, and still have the mentality that things can work how they used to when the company was smaller. The turnover rate is insane here as well. Micromanagemt is also a big issue here. They will say you have an "open seating" arrangement where you can see your peers and communicate well with them, but you'll often find management looking at your screen from the other side of the room to see what you are doing. I've also heard management ask about what time people have left for lunch, how long they were gone for, if someone was in the restroom/the kitchen or anywhere else. We are adults, we do not need someone watching our every move. Some trust would be nice. During my time here I've seen people cry, get yelled at, get shot down and just flat out disrespected. At one point the company even brought in someone to do focus groups to try and fix the chaos happening here. It's not hatch itself that's bad, hatch is a unique company with plenty of potential to improve. However, it's certain people working here with higher positions that make the work environment toxic. Management does not realize they are the problem. If they do realize, then they flat out just don't care to change.

Almost Comical But Mostly Sad

Pros

This company wont be around much longer.

Cons

First of all, all the good review you see here are fake and written by loyal people in “managerial” positions. I placed quotes in the word managerial because the biggest problem in this company is the lack of qualified people in key positions. Their most used excuse for the sorry state of the company is that it grew too fast which is partly true but the issue is that the people in management positions had absolutely no idea how to respond to the growth and changing landscape in the industry. Management along with the CEOs all believe that they know everything and their decisions are smart while it couldn’t be further from the truth. Which is the second biggest issue with this company, they make decisions like we were back in the 90’s with no digital marketing strategy at all or an understanding of how to grow a brand effectively in 2018. The third biggest issue is that their purpose is mislabeled on their website. They claim to “make pretty things” but it should instead say “make snake oil” and not even an innovative snake oil but a bad knock off of a more successful snake oil. This company did not grow fast, it just made many promises to retailers to get purchase orders while not thinking on how they were going to deliver on those promises. Once the retailers and other partners saw through their lies and incompetence they promptly dropped them. Too bad soon they will run out of influential people to sell their snake oil as they are quickly becoming the laughingstock in town. Too many times they have hired people to “fix” what is wrong and too many times those people leave because the people on top are not interested in change. They even fired their prior set of managerial lackeys to save money and put in place their subordinates at a cheaper pay grade. One CEO literally kicked the other CEO out of the building and had guards in place for weeks to prevent him from entering the building until they decided to make up and work together again. Meanwhile people are leaving, feeling this sinking ship, so many people have fled that they had to make a presentation to try to stop it but it was so little so late, it is a ghost town now.
