Making a difference

Pros

Mostly supportive BCBA staff and office staff. But the job itself can be quite challenging with many ups and downs. It can be okay or it can be tough depending on the client and family, but it is a job that can be very rewarding if you stick it out. It can be difficult to get a lot of hours. They offer some optional training opportunities for any employee who wants it, and that extra support can make a difference. You may be able to move into a higher position after a while, but you usually cant become a program manager without a master's degree.

Cons

The pay is just okay for the usual job pay range; not bad, not great. Challenging clients at times. May not be the job for someone who needs to work full-time. Have to request any pay raises which aren't guaranteed

Pros

You get to have an impact and help children with special needs. You get to spend a lot of time with the kid's family.

Cons

Horrible management. Horrible bbenefits". The pay is ridiculously low and many of my colleagues were going to work and admittedly didn't do anything because they felt ripped off. Meanwhile, the kids chances for therapy and improvement decrease considerably, as they advance in age.
