Management is a joke! People get promoted without the proper experience required for the job. From Directors down to lower level dept. managers HRL promotes from within because its easy, they do NOT bring in the best person for the job. The loss of some of our best Engineers, Research, and administrative staff has increased within the last 2 yrs. due to the lack of support, and incompetence of management! There are constant power outages, often times zero cell and standard phone service. And trying to get to and from HRL via PCH, or Malibu Canyon Rd (the only way in/out) is a JOKE! The facility itself is so hopelessly outdated. There are truthfully no redeeming qualities. I would not recommend working at HRL to anyone. I am actively looking for employment elsewhere.

Everything else. HR will refuse to give you the pay that you're worth. Do not trust any conversation with HR unless its in writing. If you're not a PhD you will not be valued in the company. Salary is far below average. No career advancement track. A lot of drama and fighting in the upper management and project management. Raises are bad. Really old fashioned company with a lot of technical debt.
