Pros

As core team members are moved between projects as those projects' demands change, you as an employee are exposed to many different facets of software and data engineering. At my time here, I always felt like I was learning, and improving.

Cons

With the company still maintaining their startup potential, coming in with a rigid mindset will not serve you well, as project scopes and expectations will be not be set in stone

Pros

+Growing variety of interesting and involved projects +Good opportunity to develop seniority quickly and gain exposure with high profile clients +Flat level communication with very open channels +Hard working but laid back working culture +Company growing and expanding Organised into a smaller subteam for one of it's increasing pool of projects, you quickly feel like a dependable member of the team, and given a significant part in shaping its development direction from the start regardless of previous experience. The clients are actively involved with project, providing support such as collaborations with signalling experts, as they are eager to see the products deployed as soon as possible. More a community than just a company, it is rare to find managment that takes genuine concern for the wellbeing and development of their employees beyond that of simply maintaining productivity. The senior managment is very approachable, and has been extremely patient and supportive despite having major difficulties adjusting to the job due to personal reasons. On top of the hardworking layer of machinery, there is an (almost deceptively) cool and calm top layer to the workforce. The people I met here are extremely chilled, interesting and engaged, always down to play games, and keep up a sense of humour. Additionally it's exciting to see the company expand to meet the demands of it's clients, which in my time has moved office twice, taken on 3 new project and has resolved as many, and has seen two recruitment surges

Cons

-Much more emphasis on speed than direction, can be very hacky -Can be hard to strike healthy work life balance depending on project, with occasional overtime Working here can be polarising and intense, some days can be incredibly exciting and fufilling, others can feel extremely stressful. High profile clients can push for short delivery times be and you'll likely need to work overtime occasionally to meet critical deadlines. Having many small teams (3-6 people) can lead to small margin of delay, stress of which can be reinforced when the company becomes extremely busy as a whole leading to a slight breakdown in communications and feeling slightly isolated. However, sometimes this can be mitigated by managing client expectations, and people are always willing to help out regardless of how busy they are despite the slight shortage of time and resources. Ultimately Hackpartners desires a degree of sheer determination and desire to develop quickly, but either way you'll have an experience here you'll likely never forget
