Pros

- HK have a great name in the market - Work with an array of clients across different sectors - Paid health and well being day off every month - Good location to Flinders Street Station and Trams - Excellent training given to starters - The owners are still hands on and bill - Invest in some of the industries leading sourcing tools - Nice, modern offices - Dress down environment - Beer fridge - Work from anywhere - Paid mobile phone bill / gym membership

Cons

- When the going gets tough expect silent treatment - Bullying in the office (even when reported nothing gets done about it) - Favoritism where accounts are concerned - Nothing is confidential when you talk to certain managers - Pretend to understand mental health despite openly contributing to the demise of previous employees - Drug and gambling culture - They have access to your work and private emails, they can access your machine without you knowing at any given time - WhatsApp groups created where people talk negatively of others in the office sending pictures around saying nasty things - They will do everything not to pay you out any monies owed when you leave even threatening legal action - Immature culture where people are more interested about their haircut fade as opposed to doing some actual work - Managers actually look forward to meetings so they don’t have to do any work - Limited social events outside of work - You are given a very small budget to entertain clients - Get questioned of your whereabouts if you have been on a meeting that has taken longer than expected - People openly mock and humiliate others in the office and find it funny

Pros

Ability to make some good money, although their holy grail of 50% comms bracket is fast becoming redundant as many other agencies are now offering the same. Also - they'll remind you of the comms structure as a way of getting you to keep working RIDICULOUS hours. BD is quite easy as they have good relationships with some big logos. Also have some pretty nifty tech that does help make your incredibly stressful job a little easier.

Cons

I want to make it clear I'm not a scorned ex employee looking for revenge here. I left on my own accord and learnt a lot from my time at HK. But honestly, where do I begin... Management is a complete joke, starting from the top. The two CEOs are out of touch and honestly full of shite. They'll preach to you about all of these incredible things the company does for you any chance they get - in reality its all a load of hot air. Complete boys club with casual sexism and micro aggressions built into the very core of the office culture/chat (most of the time this is driven by people leaders in the business). Again, they'll tell you about all of these diversity initiatives/successes until they are blue in the face (often to the point where its blatant gaslighting). The reality is once you stop listening to the noise its pretty obvious its a place run by men, and diverse hires are there to tick a box rather than with the purpose of bringing a diverse perspective to the table. The pressure is relentless - like nothing I've ever experienced. All recruitment roles are pretty full on, but HK expects you to take it to the next level. If your life revolves around your job then you'll do well here - just look at all of the people in people management positions. They'll talk about how they offer a flexible working environment and then move onto how you should be sending CVs at 7pm on a Sunday all in the same sentence. Its actually mind-blowing how they don't seem to get the irony there (this is common theme in most of your interactions with the business leaders)
