Pros

- Big company, not all departments are bad to work in. - Good staff mortgage. - Potentially a good place to work with the correct management.

Cons

- Terrible culture. You need to experience it to believe it, there is massive resistance to change and it is largely the same management and culture that brought HBOS to its knees. - Customers and are treated poorly by certain staff members who appear to be beyond reproach. - Management tend to reward dishonest and morally abhorrent behaviours. - Hard working staff (who are the minority) are treated shockingly despite the fact that they carry the huge burden of covering the work that should be undertaken by their colleagues who avoid work and focus on "building their profiles". - The majority of managers have no management skills hence they resort to treating lower grade colleagues with the utmost disrespect. They are happy to take credit for other peoples hard work but never willing to take responsibility for their own incompetence. - Data protection breaches, misconduct and misrepresentation by staff are regularly brushed under the carpet by management. - No job security. - Poor Salary. - Interestingly, you are told by management never to use the whistleblowing line as they will be able to work out who blew the whistle and you will be tarred as being malicious!
