Pros

Pay is average, predictable work days with unpredictable people.

Cons

PTO is impossible to get approved. No clear promotion path, longevity pay increases. School is understaffed and most staff present is underskilled. Horrible work culture. "Character" program is Bible school.

Leadership Needs and Overhaul

Pros

The students are awesome and have a pretty good attitude.

Cons

Most "leaders" are not even qualified and were given the position because of office politics and personal friendships. In the past year, most of the amazing qualified people left. Those who do not know anything about leadership remained, or returned. The leadership team here is a joke, the CEO is involved in everything and micromanages his executive team (because they are not qualified) so they in turn micromanage their teams; there is no leadership at all, just managers. Hallmark teaches "character" and "leadership" yet they lack both. The CEO has no integrity and will lie to your face. They do not report Title 9 issues but instead bury them, and intimidate students and employees when they come forward. This is a toxic place and there have been so many complaints, but they bury them all and get rid of anyone who tries to speak up. Look at the turnover rate here, facts don't lie. Stay away from this employer.

Pros

I love how they bring Christian values into the classroom and work environment.

Cons

However, they are hearers of the Word but are not doers. God is concerned that men and women should not be taken advantage of, but should receive their just wages (Deuteronomy 25: 13-16). They do not offer fair wages to instructors but require so much. For my first teaching assignment, I was given 3 classes 2 on campus (in the am and pm) and another online, but they combined these classes into one. I was told that I don't get paid by hours worked but by headcount, so I worked 18 hours weekly and my total pay was below $400. I expressed my concerns to my supervisor and was told to voice my concerns to senior management, so I developed a report with my recommendations. They responded, "If you did not like the pay, then you should not have taken the position." That was enough for me, so that was the last time I taught there.
