Pros

A supportive community that cares for both its employees and students. Is going in the right direction and the future looks bright.

Cons

There have been a few issues in the past, but the current administration and others have been working extremely hard at moving things in the right direction. As very hopeful about it continued contributions and role in the community for many years ahead.

Frustrating at many levels

Pros

The students. But as a faculty or staff member, that is a natural thing to have an affinity for.

Cons

Poorly led institution that is bleeding financially. The MN nice attitude and passive-aggressive behavior has unfortunately placed so many in positions where it further hurts the institution. I was there long enough to see the turnover of deans and other leaders. All of them brining in new ideas but the core infrastructure is not sound enough to implement changes. Additionally, and probably most importantly, the faculty and staff that are the face of the institution are treated poorly. They become forced to take on so much and become deflated as resources are stripped away.

Drowning in Debt and Deceit

Pros

Faculty and staff are very committed to their students.

Cons

The school's administration habitually disregards the importance of faculty, and is highly overpaid. The school cannot survive much longer with its ever-increasing deficits, currently $1.4 million. In order to address the deficit, more and more students who are not academically ready for college are admitted to the school, causing yet more burdens for faculty and supporting staff, who, in turn, receive no raises yet are expected to work harder and longer. Yet, administrators' salaries and bonuses keep rising. What's wrong with this picture?
